Let's get ELLEN to Toronto!

I think we should try to get Ellen DeGeneres to do her show in Toronto for a week, maybe if we can get enough people to join she will do it!!! and i figure Toronto is the best place because it is so big and i bet ppl from all around ontario would go. especially since some people cant cross the border or maybe dont have enough money to go all the way to cali.

PLEASE ELLEN COME TO CANADA, it will help your quest for world domination.

DJ CUBERT

Lately I've been driving some early mornings to get to work. I love the 'Coffee Morning Mix" I made for the drive. The songs aren't that well known, but they are some nice gems.

Enjoy!

Please help Tibet

I recently found out that Tibetans have the highest rate of blindness of anywhere in the world because of a combination in altitude and poverty. BUT what is optimistic is that the type of blindness they suffer from can be reversed by a simple procedure that is close to just $50. In a country that is so heavily dependant on agriculture it is imperative that they have eyesight for survival.

A few friends and I have entered a contest under the team name Love at First Sight and over the past three weeks we have been spreading awareness and trying to reach our goal of $5,000 to put towards an eye camp in Tibet. If we reach this goal we could potentially help 100 people have the chance at full vision again. As a byproduct an entire community will be transformed. We are worried though as the deadline for donations is this Friday, March 12 at noon.

Lil'G Mini Boombox at CIAS

A few weeks ago was the Canadian Interational Auto Show (CIAS). The show was pretty amazing, seeing all the new concept cars and displays. I was contacted by Candice & Alison (www.candiceandalison.com) to be part of the MINI display area. Candice & Alison were commissioned by MINI to design and produce the Canadian launch of the MINI Beachcomber concept car at the 2010 Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS). The theme concept was a 1950's Beach Tailgate Party which included Pin up style models with era inspired costumes. Adding to the beach party theme, Candice & Alison approached me to have Lil'G (mini boombox) accompany the models showcasing the display area. Everything went amazing, the MINI Beachcomber - concept car was very well received. The models (Jon, Vlada and Caitlyn) were all decked out in their beach wear and looked the part of 50s beach babes and dude. With Lil'G at their side as they showed off the new car from MINI.

Auto Show

This is a busy week for sure, MINI has asked to use my Boombox in their new car display at the auto show this weekend, It's a really nice new car (the beach comber). Some models in poka dot bikinis will be walking around with with Lil'G as part of their "beach theme". I've attached pics of the new colours for Lil'G, as to match the new MINI. I also had to remake the back section for it to be a "fully working" prototype. So now there is a slot for your Ipod to fit in the backside area.

It's a four day event with lots of attention from the press, bloggers, car enthusiasts the general public. So wish me luck!! I'll also be sneaking a peak at the Nissan display... I hope they have a sweet Cube display!

Cheers

Events around the city!

My friends and I love getting out around the city. Attending events all over Toronto; be it photography, film, design, art or history (etc etc).

This past week was the Interior design show. We were lucky enough to get to more than a few events at the Metro Convention Center, the ROM and at the Gladstone Hotel.

At the Metro Convention Center there was the Interior Design Show. Lots to see, touch and take pics of! I'm proud to say that candian designers really stand out. I love that we are tactile people, we like things honest and real... things you want around you and that communicate more than just sleek and sexy. We have a sense of humor, a sense of story and a sense of history in most things we make... and you can see it whether you understand design or not. It was well worth checking out a show such as this.
