BIG SKY MONTANA

no clouds

I love montana! I love Wyoming!

Amazing day. amazing country side. WE decided to have some fun.

DAY THREE RECAP: Thelma, louis and sheila...

We spent all day in the mystical, magical park called Yellowstone.

no Yogi the bear, but plenty of BUFFALO!

Bison, and Cauldrons and Geysers, oh MY!

Good ol' faithful blowed on time, we saw Hot springs, winding rivers and craggy mountain sides. There were wild buffalo grazing in expansive pastures. Wispy wonderful grasses swaying back and forth.  And every here you looked the earth itself steamed up bubbly hot energy. We rode over mountains, following biker gangs up to 8023 ft, across the continental divide!  I got a park ranger badge.  oh yeah.  It seemed around every bend was a new adventure one distraction led to another, and soon it was dark as we exited the park. oops! And running out of gas, led to some nervous anxiety for the three amigas.  I drove down steep switch back turns through a canyon in the dark.  just barely avoiding elk and foxes running in front of the high beams.  The cube told me I had 80 km left until an empty tank....and suddenly as the terrain flattened out, and we were alone in the dark, the gas meter flashed empty.  AH!  WE passed the only gas station with a sign that read "last resort"  and it was closed.  We kept driving.

Luckily we came across a little wooden lodge, in Wapati.

"The Last Resort" Yellowstone INN appeared in the dark and we checked in.

Pillow top beds!  Everything is made of WOOD!

And there are Antler Chandeliers and mounted deer heads on the wall. Wagon Wheels and pheasants.

The barmaid was kind enough to thaw a tombstone pizza for us, and we drank a couple rounds of Moose Drool beer (brewed in Missoula)

long story short....my aunt Sheila did not meet her cowboy....but she did meet Big Mike and his Time Machine.

A couple moose drools later and my aunt sheila is singing a live Performance duet of Patsy Kline "crazy" with Big Mike at the Saloon to a cheering crowd.

We closed the bar.

Stay tuned for day four updates of the LOOPER CUBE.looper cube in wapati looper cube girls with old faithful
